Awake at Night

Ever since I started writing about my grief for Isaac, the response has been overwhelming. I have been contacted by so many people showing support and sharing their own stories of loss. I also had the honour of being contacted by Melissa Fleming, the head of United Nations global communications. Melissa invited me to be a guest on her podcast “Awake at Night”. Her previous guests include some very senior United Nations leaders, as well as Cate Blanchett! But Melissa made me feel very comfortable and we had a long discussion about the Beirut explosion, using writing to deal with grief, mothering my newborn son Ethan while grieving Isaac, and the pursuit of justice. And of course we talked about Isaac, my beautiful Isaac.

You can find the podcast via this link: https://www.un.org/en/awake-at-night/S3-E16-isaac

It is also available wherever you normally subscribe to podcasts. The episode had the perfect title: Isaac.
